Michael and Tara Hale bought The Springs in October 2025. They have had a life of serving people. The couple has owned DeKalb Funeral Chapel since 1999, have pastored in DeKalb and Warren counties, ran a family farm and in 2022 was elected as State Representative for the 40th District in Tennessee. Tara is the daughter of the Betty Evins Webb and the late Ray Donald Webb. She had 3 siblings, Tracie, Trena and Tad. Michael is the son of Vicky Dunn and Nelson Sandlin and the late Charles Hale. He has one brother, John and one brother that passed away in 2010, Chris. The couple has three children, Jaley (Trevor) Shim, Kayla (Chad) Harvey and Maddox Hale; five grandchildren, Baylor, Andie Mae, Parker Kate, Harriett Grace and Jack, one grandson passed away from a tragic accident in 2022, Eli.
As previously mentioned, the Hale’s have had a life of service and when the opportunity to purchase The Springs, they knew this was a fulfillment of a dream Tara had for many years of opening a wedding venue and a way to serve people and create the most memorable wedding day for couples. Tara has a love for decorating and this opportunity is so special to her. The day to day operation of the farm and wedding venue are carried on by Tara, Mike and Maddox. Tara loves meeting with couples and hear their dreams and works to carry them out and make them as unique as each couple. The Springs also hosts receptions, meetings and business events. These give Tara the opportunity to create a meaningful experience regardless of the occasion.
To Tara, Mike and Maddox, this is not a job, but a calling to serve and to open their property to others. The Springs is a ministry of love and service for the Hale’s.
